This photo book explores the broader social, cultural, and environmental struggles in contemporary Thailand, as articulated by young Thais both during and beyond periods of political mobilization. It captures the youth-led democracy activism between 2020 and 2023 and the resilience of communities along the Mekong River. It also captures the evolving role of the traditional Mor Lam music in addressing social issues, the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ citizens despite legal progress, and the tensions between religious norms and human rights across the country. The photo book is produced for the the research project POPAGANDA: Pop Culture, Art, and Indigenous Ideas of Legitimacy in Struggles over Democratization and Peace)
