PRIO’s Cindy Horst and Greta Glas are on the advisory board for the 5-year exhibition series on peace at the Nobel Peace Centre. The first exhibition opened on 23 April and is called Paths to Peace. Zahara Sakor, Henrik Syse and Cindy Horst appear in the exhibition with short reflections on peace.
Paths to Peace looks at how peace has been designed, practiced and challenged throughout history through historical examples, philosophical texts, poetry and artworks.
Visitors are encouraged to explore different perspectives, take part in the conversation, and contribute to reflection on peace as they read historical peace treaties and texts by key thinkers from the Norwegian Nobel Institute’s library, and listen to Nobel Peace Prize laureates speaking about their paths to peace.
In addition, three contemporary video works are presented, expressing reflections on peace in today’s world.
In preparation for this exhibition, multiple people at PRIO were consulted through conversations and short presentations.
The exhibition is now open to the public at the Nobel Peace Center in Oslo, offering visitors the chance to explore how research and reflection can support the pursuit of a more peaceful world. Kjersti Fløgstad, Executive Director of the Nobel Peace Center stated that:
“In a world increasingly preparing for war, we need places that take peace seriously, not as a slogan or a distant dream, but as a political, social, and deeply human project.”
